Rhinoplasty
Cosmetic nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure used to change the shape and structure of a patient’s nose. Dr. Verga can increase or decrease the size and shape of your nose depending on your preferences and goals. Dr. Verga can also correct certain breathing problems related to the internal nasal structures.
Dr. Verga performs rhinoplasty surgery most commonly on men and women under age 35, although it can be performed on people of any age. Assuming you are in good health, there is no upper age limit for having your nose reshaped. Rhinoplasty is also sometimes performed in conjunction with a facelift, blepharoplasty or brow lift to correct aging changes of the nose such as a drooping tip.
Dr Verga uses a variety of techniques to reshape noses. The appropriate technique or combination of techniques will depend largely on the goals established during your consultation, before surgery. In many instances, all of the incisions will be placed inside your nose so that there will be no visible external scarring. If you want to reduce the size of your nostrils, Dr. Verga will remove small wedges of skin at the base of your nostrils, placing these incisions in the natural crease where your nostril joins your cheek.
When deciding whether rhinoplasty surgery is right for you, Dr. Verga will discuss all the risks and potential complications during your consultation.
